DECORATED Penola highland dancer Hailee Pearce triumphed at the recent City of Port Adelaide Championships, securing six wins at the September event.

The talented dancer, who recently moved to the 12 to 15 age group, has remained at the top after the competition.

Hailee won the 12 to 15 championship event with a first place in the sword dance, seann truibhas and highland reel.

She also placed third in the highland fling against a large group of 14 competitors from South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales.

The Margaret Cleves School of Dancing member also secured the premier 12 to 15 title.

The Mount Gambier-based dance school had a number of students achieve success, with Abbey Freebairn placing second in the premier 12 to 15 title with a high standard of dancing.

She also gained the 12 to 15 championship runner-up title with a first in highland fling and a second in both the seann truibhas and Highland Reel.

Other dancers from the school to achieve top placings includes Zena-Lily Jackson who competed in her first championship in the 12 to 15 division.

Zena-Lily finished with three sixth placings in the highland fling, sword dance and Highland Reel.

Correa Bachman placed fourth overall in the 11 and under championship and third overall in the 11 and under title.

Elisabeth Benney won the 11 and over novice title, as well as first in the Lilt and third in the highland fling trophy dance.

Laura LeCornu finished third overall in the intermediate any age title with a first in the highland fling and a second in the sword.

She also secured first place in the Highland Laddie, Barracks Johnny and Flora as well as second in the lilt.
