SOME of Australia’s most talented Lego masters will build on their reputations in the Limestone Coast this weekend at the 2019 Empak Homes BrickGambier event.

The region will welcome inaugural Lego Masters finalists Jordan Hocking and Miller Keys, along with fellow season one contestant Kale Frost.

BrickGambier founder Emma Robinson said the three television personalities were exceptionally talented with Lego.

“The show was a family-favourite for many households when it aired earlier this year,” Ms Robinson said.

“It was a ratings winner for (the station) and I think because of the show’s popularity it will attract some attention to the event.

“In the city, having guests like this is a drawcard, but I am not sure whether country areas like Mount Gambier are quite as celebrity-focused.”

Ms Robinson said she knew Mr Frost before the first season aired earlier this year, but met Mr Hocking and Mr Keys at an Adelaide event after the show was screened.

“They will be attending both days of the event so will be around to have a bit of fun with visitors as well as the exhibitors themselves,” she said.

“Kale is bringing a model he made with him, Jordan and Miller are yet to confirm whether they are bringing anything yet.”

Ms Robinson said the television show was a hit because it projected the diversity Lego could offer.

“It showcased Lego was not just for children or school students,” she said.

“Sometimes people think I am unusual for having a passion for Lego.

“It showed Lego could be an art medium and I personally enjoy the fact I can create things out of it and engage with young and old through it.”

Ms Robinson added Lego Masters was suitable for all ages.

“I do not personally have young children but I know families found it was a good all-round source of entertainment,” she said.

Ms Robinson said the second season of Lego Masters was currently being filmed.

This year’s BrickGambier event almost quadrupled in exhibitor numbers jumping from 15 last year to over 50 this year.

The event will be held at the Mount Gambier Showgrounds on Sunday and Monday from 10am.

Single tickets are $7 or $20 for families, while children three years and under are free.
