THE Soul Arts Convention will return to the Limestone Coast next weekend, showcasing a broad range of performance workshops across the two-day event.
A choreography competition, song writing workshops and make-up and jazz seminars will be held at the September 7-8 event, hosted by MJ Dance Studio.
Guest judge Lacie Roberts will attend Saturday’s activities, returning to Australia after taking the stage in Le Moulin Rouge in Paris.
Sunday’s song-writing workshop with local songwriters Matt James and Ellyana Sims will be held at Pheonix Music Studios in Keegan Street.
A choreography competition will also be held Sunday at Wehl Street Theatre with novice and open divisions for all ages, as well as solos, duos, trios and squad sections.
Overall winners will receive $100, with $50 for divisional winners and $25 encouragement awards.
Dancers are encouraged to create their own dance routines for the competition.
