THE sound of country echoed across the Blue Lake city last weekend with an impressive line up of musicians and entertainers taking the stage for the annual South East Country Music Festival.

Over 400 people attended the two-day event held over the long weekend, with organisers hailing it the most successful festival to date.

Held at Casadio Park, the program included performances by Owen Blundell, The Hoffmans, Kevin Sporer, Graeme Hugo, Don Costa, Sandie Dodd, Justin Standley and Patsy and David as the Short of It.

TALENTED: Over 400 people packed into Casadio Park last weekend to celebrate the South East Country Music Festival.

South East Country Music Association president Ros James said this year’s inclusion of the country comedy cabaret was particularly well received by attendees.

“We decided to do something different with the country comedy instead of just having music all day and it went off extremely well,” she said.

“I was extremely happy with the turn out we had and everyone was saying how great it was.”

The festival will celebrate its 30th year in 2020.
