OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE: Ebony McDonald, South Eastern National Dancing Association adjudicator Leonie Burgess, Lucy Edwards, Zena-Lily Jackson, Georgia Seidel, Laura Le Cornu and Agnes Sim all enjoyed success at the Mil Lel competition earlier this month.

THIS year’s Mil Lel Show showcased highland dancing skills with a South Eastern National Dancing Association competition.

Adjudicators from across South Australia oversaw the competition, including Adelaide’s Leonie Burgess.

Throughout the primary 4-6 year category, Izabella Neilson dominated the competition, placing first in the Pas de Basques section followed by Anna Le Cornu in second, Violet Davis third, Willow Sard fourth, Zander Sim fifth and Willow Widdison in sixth.

Ms Davis triumphed the primary 4-6 year Pas de Basques and highcuts, placing first followed closely by Ms Le Cornu in second, Izabella Neilson in third, Ms Sard in fourth, Zander Sim in fifth and Ms Widdison in sixth place.

Ms Le Cornu nailed the primary 4-6 year Highland fling and sword dance sections, scoring first in both, with Ms Neilson following close behind in second place throughout the fling.

Elisabeth Benny triumphed in the beginners category, winning both the Highland fling and sword dance.

The beginners any age Seann Truibhas, Scottish lilt and flora were all won by aggregate score winner Agnes Sim.

Laura Le Cornu won the novice category, winning the Highland fling, sword dance, Seann Triubhas, Scottish lilt and flora, also receiving the aggregate score.

There was tough competition in the intermediate category.

Zena-Lily Jackson placed first in the Highland fling and flora sections, Georgia Seidel won both the sword dance and Irish jig, the Highland laddie section was won by Joshua Kain and joint aggregate scores were shared between both Ms Jackson and Ms Seidel.

Premier 8-11 year aggregate winner Lucy Edwards won both the Highland fling and laddie, with Ms Bachmann coming close in second place and Evie Edwards in third.

Lucy Edwards, Evie Edwards and Correa Bachmann all competed in the premier 8-11 year aggregate sword dance, blue bonnets and Irish jig.

Premier 14-15 year aggregate winner Ebony McDonald placed first in the Highland fling, laddie, blue bonnets and Irish jig sections with Abbey Freebairne second.

The premier 14-15 year sword dance was topped by Abbey Freebairn with Ebony McDonald finishing the competition with strength, placing second.

All performers involved featured skills that will be hard to top at the 2019 Mil Lel Show.
