THE Barn was packed on Saturday night as 500 people flocked to the venue to witness eight local personalities hit the dance floor at the 11th annual Swinging with the Stars.
The Stand Like Stone Foundation’s annual fundraiser this year raised $98,000 to benefit Limestone Coast communities.
Laura Hawkins of Francis and dance partner Cody Smith were crowned winners, while Alistair Coonan won the people’s choice award for his individual fundraising effort of $15,000.
Since the first Swinging with the Stars in 2007 the event has raised a total $615,000 for the foundation.
All funds raised for Stand Like Stone are held in trust for the benefit of the region and the income earned is granted back to the local community through scholarships and grants for charitable projects.
