PRAISE for Generations in Jazz has made its way to Canberra, with Member for Barker Tony Pasin applauding the event as the “ultimate jazz jam session” in Federal Parliament.

Mr Pasin told the House of Representatives of the “spectacular” event last week, commending the organisers and volunteers for their efforts in this year’s event.

“Forget New Orleans,” he said.

“Mount Gambier was the place to be for international jazz fans.”

Mr Pasin’s comments follow acclaim from Premier Steven Marshall, who labelled the event as awe-inspiring in
State Parliament.

The Federal MP, who was among the many volunteers at the three-day event, acknowledged the thousands of people attending.

“Set in the middle of a paddock, the 6100-seat big top pavilion hosts the stage band awards, individual jazz and vocal scholarships and the daily concerts from the more established jazz legends,” he said.

“On the outskirts of our Blue Lake city, the event attracts thousands of people, the majority of whom are performing themselves.

“It is a unique and spectacular event, something that fills me with pride as a local.”
