City gets little bit country

THE sound of country music will echo through Mount Gambier over the March long weekend, with an impressive line up of musicians set to take the stage as part of this year’s Country Music Festival.

Held at Casadio Park, Saturday March 10 will showcase Cabaret with Henry and Friends, including unmissable performances by guests artists.

Sunday March 11 will feature a huge entertainment concert starring Paul Costa, Kiara Rodrigues, Justin Standley, Sandra Humphries, Johnny Lovett, Kim Ritchie, Matt James, Tom and Patsy Routledge and Penny Burke.

Musician Tracey Allen is set to host the two day jam packed schedule.

“I am extremely proud of this year’s line up of artists and I hope the community will support our weekend of country music,” South East Country Music Association president Ros James said.

Ms James encouraged the community to attend and enjoy the array of talented musicians.

A sausage sizzle, sandwiches, hot dogs and chips will be available from 11am, with afternoon tea and bar facilities also on offer.

On Saturday night, doors will open at 6.30pm and 10am on Sunday morning.

Tickets will be available at the door, priced at $25 per show or $40 for the weekend pass.
