WORK by three St Martins Lutheran College graduates has been selected among the best in the state and is set to be on display as part of the 2018 SACE Art Show.
Completed during the visual arts class in their final year of schooling, the works of Jackson Archibald, Matthew Becroft and Elizabeth le Roux will join more than 100 pieces including paintings and drawings, sculptures, jewellery, costumes and multimedia works at the Adelaide-based exhibition.
Art teacher Jacinta Brie Delaney was thrilled to see the students’ work selected and said it was a great achievement for the budding artists.
“It is always a great privilege for the students to be recognised in this prestigious exhibition,” she said.
“I am thrilled the hard work in 2017 paid off for these outstanding students.”
The pieces selected from each of the talented graduates includes Coastal Dream by Jackson with a house design accompanied by detailed drawings and a maquette, Change in the Wind by Matthew, which is a series of photographs depicting windmills in the landscape, and painted portrait Ruminate by Elizabeth.
Now heading into the new phase of their education and working life since completing their studies last year, Elizabeth is studying architecture with Jackson planning to pursue the same course in 2019 and Matthew is undertaking a Bachelor of Business (sport and recreation management).
The SACE Art Show will take place from March 20 to April 24 at the Light Square Gallery at Adelaide College of the Arts, viewable from 9am to 4pm weekdays and 10am to 4pm on Saturdays.
The exhibition will be closed for the Easter break from March 30 to April 2.
