RAY White Keatley will hold a unique fundraising event “Mellow in the Yellow” for the Mount Gambier Community Health Mental Health Inpatient Unit and the Stand Like Stone Foundation.

Mellow in the Yellow is the brainchild of Leila Sweeney-McDougal who started the charity Live Rural and will come to life on February 23.

Live Rural is an organisation that focuses on assisting those living and working on the land.

People living on the land face harsh conditions and it is not often the average city dweller is able to understand the trauma many Australian farmers deal with.

Live Rural aims to ensure everyone feels personally connected to farmers and their lives, and in turn develop an understanding of how important it is to support them.

Ray White Keatley principal Harriet Keatley said the business often supports various fundraisers and decided to launch their own event this year.

“We thought it would be nice to organise our own event as part of our biannual planning and while the Stand Like Stone Foundation are well known, mental health is one of those issues people would rather not talk about,” she said.

“Having to face mental health issues with a close family member is a very confronting thing and while I cannot speak more highly of the services offered at the hospital, it is easy to see funding has been scarce.”

The night will start with canape’s and cocktails while the main course will be a sit down meal.

“We hope by desert everyone will be up dancing and enjoying the night,” Ms Keatley said.

Entertainment will be provided by local talents Ellyana Sims, Tamara Seeley and Ben Hood with the main feature act to be Australian legend Kate Ceberano.

Tickets start at $195 and include food, wine, beer and entertainment, $395 VIP tickets are also available which include a VIP area, waiter service, dinner, wine, beer and a take home gift.

An auction will also be held on the night.

Contact Ms Keatley, Sarah Barney or Tahlia Gabrielli at Ray White Keatley for more information.

Tickets can be purchased online with payment plans available and can also be picked up from the Ray White Keatley office at 16a James Street Mount Gambier.
