CREATIVE and colourful artworks of talented Gordon Education Centre students are on display at the Riddoch Art Gallery for all to see.

Working together with local artist Jo Fife over the past three terms, students have explored their artistic abilities, creating a total of six pieces which after being displayed at the gallery will be permanently presented at the centre.

Created in a calm environment for an hour each week, Ms Fife said the students came up with the ideas for the murals themselves, both sketching and painting the designs.

“It was great to get to know the students and as well as being fun, it was quite educational as they learnt about colour and shape,” she said.

“They had great ideas and did an amazing job with the designs.”

Thankful for Ms Fife’s support in undertaking to project, well-being coordinator Linda Marano said it had been a great experience for the students.

“It really helped to self-regulate their emotions and in some ways was a form of meditation,” she said.

The artworks will be on display at the Riddoch Art Gallery until January 28.
