THIS year’s month-long Coonawarra Cabernet Celebrations are coming to a close, with only one weekend of action remaining.

Visitors from across the region and beyond enjoyed various events in Penola and Coonawarra over the past weekend.

With food, wine and live music, there was plenty of action from Friday to Sunday.

The region’s wineries hosted various tastings showcasing their wines in a unique fashion, allowing tourists to pop in to a number of locations.

Koonara Wines hosted its Speakeasy Bar on Friday night, which proved to be a glamorous affair inspired by the 1920’s flapper style.

On Saturday, DiGiorgio Family Wines hosted its annual La Dolce Vita event with homemade traditional Italian meatballs and live music by Lizzie Coke.

Leconfield Coonawarra also came to life on Saturday with the Great Day Out, which featured music by Jon Peters, a range of tasty treats and plenty of dancing.

On Sunday, Rymill Coonawarra hosted its popular Cabernet Carnival with plenty of attractions and activities for children ensuring there was something for everyone.

Renowned Australian chefs Themis Chryssidis and Callum Hann from Adelaide’s Sprout Cooking School created seasonal dishes during an exclusive demonstration.

During the demo, the duo prepared a fresh salmon dish with salad and dressing, showed onlookers how to cook with halloumi and made sweet rosemary honeycomb from scratch.

Lizzie hit the stage and performed a series of crowd favourites while children enjoyed the jumping castle, photobooth and mini golf.

This weekend wine lovers can explore a range of exclusive tasting opportunities at Redman Wines, Zema Estate, Wynns Coonawarra Estate, Raidis Estate, Patrick of Coonawarra, Katnook Estate and Brand’s Laira.

Visitors can also participate in the Coonawarra Wineries Walking Trail Super Quiz.
