Bachelor contestant in sticky situation

BACHELOR BEAUTY: Former Mount Gambier resident Natalie Holmberg entertained viewers of Wednesday night’s premiere of the new season of Channel Ten’s The Bachelor.

“MOIST” was the interesting word of choice used by a former Mount Gambier resident as she made her bizarre first impression on the new “Bachelor” in Channel Ten’s premiere of the new series on Wednesday night.

Natalie Holmberg, a midwife at the Mount Gambier Hospital in 2014, stole the show as she laughed, burped and even farted her way through the first episode of the program.

Her first appearance showed her nervously stumbling up the red carpet to meet the new bachelor, Matty J, but it was the words that followed which shocked viewers.

“My hands are sticky – they’re a little bit moist,” Natalie said to Matty as she held his hands.

The surprises did not stop there, with Natalie revealing she was recently in a relationship with a woman, but watching Matty on the last series of the “Bachelorette” turned her straight again.

With that comment, Natalie became the first openly bi-sexual contestant the Australian version of the show has ever had.

Following her arrival on the red carpet, Natalie was one of the most entertaining contestants throughout the cocktail party, even raising her leg at one stage to let out a “fart” much to the disgust of some of the other girls.

“What woman does that? That kind of behaviour is just grubby,” another contestant said.

“I’ve got my life together, I act like a woman.”

Despite using different tactics to many of the contestants, who were doing everything they could to impress the “Bachelor”, Natalie still managed to receive a rose from Matty at the conclusion of the “cocktail party”.

While she now lives in Adelaide, a number of Mount Gambier residents took to social media to throw their support behind Natalie.

“Somehow you exceeded my large expectations, you hilarious babe,” one viewer said.

The next episode of “The Bachelor” is at 7.30pm next Wednesday after the second episode went to air last night.
