ROUND 11 of Kowree Naracoorte Tatiara football produced some of the closest results in recent memory.

Four out of the five games had margins of eight points or less in an entertaining round of football.

The other game created the biggest upset of the season when eighth-placed Lucindale defeated ladder-leading Kingston comfortably at home.

LUCINDALE 17.15 (117) d KINGSTON 12.11 (83)

Lucindale caused the first big upset of the season when they ran Kingston off their feet on their home ground.

After an even first term, the Roos led for most of the game and stamped their authority on the game in the third quarter when they created a 27-point lead.

They then pushed the margin out in the fourth to run away with a 34-point win and stun the ladder-leaders.

Scott Spriggs kicked six goals in the victory and Tom Logan finished with three.

For Kingston, five goals came from the boot of Jacob Fisher, while Brock Kennedy added two.

BORDERTOWN 11.4 (70) d BORDER DISTRICTS 9.15 (69)

Bordertown claimed a thrilling one-point win against Border Districts to skip one game clear in fifth position on the ladder.

Border Districts struggled to find the goals, despite having 24 scoring shots to Bordertown’s 15.

The Eagles led by 10 points at half time, then trailed by 11 at the final break.

Despite the deficit, the final term went down to the wire, as Borders closed in on the margin, but could not get across the line.

Bordertown would be pleased to escape with the victory against the fast-finishing Eagles.

Billy Hayes kicked four goals in the victory, while Curtis McCarthy and Joshua Searle kicked two each.

For Borders, Mitchell Coles kicked three goals and Graham Hampton kicked two goals.

Naracoorte held a five-point lead at the first break, which was reduced to just one point at half time.

Scores were tied up at three-qurter time, before two extra shots from the Tigers gave them the win.

PADTHAWAY 12.8 (80) d MUNDULLA 10.14 (74)

Padthaway continued its winning run with a classic six-point victory against Mundulla at Mundulla in one of the hardest trips in the league.

While Mundulla held an eight-point lead at the first break, it was short-lived, as Padthaway began to find form and built a three-goal lead by the final break.

They then held on in the fourth quarter as the home side could not kick straight to get the lead. Mundulla kicked 3-8 to Padthaway’s 3-2 in the final quarter, which cost the Tigers dearly.

Luke Harder kicked five goals for Padthaway, while Joshua Vandermeer and Tobin Cox finished with three each.
