Handicapper holds out

COLD and blustery conditions greeted players in the third round of the Grant and Dianne Perryman Short Course trophy at the Blue Lake Golf Club last week.

Handicapper Dianne Perryman topped the podium for Division 1, adapting to the heavy conditions to card 74/10/64.

Perryman’s front nine comprised no less than six pars for 37 gross, adding to her back nine of 37 which included a birdie-three on the 10th hole and pars on the 13th, 16th and 17th.

Runner-up Gerraldine Scott also had a good day out with 82/14/68.

She played steady golf with splits of 42/40 which included four.

Josie Ashby and Lee-Anne Medhurst were next with nett 71.

In Division 2 Lesley McPherson was back in the winner’s circle, signing for 88/21/67 to prove her last few wins were deserved.

McPherson had a credible 39 gross on the front nine, including three pars, but unfortunately the back nine proved challenging with 49 gross.

Runner-up Lucy Richards was also pleased to round out the podium with 91/21/70 and included only one par, but was able to keep the score steady with splits of 44/47.

Fay Price and Beryl Mahoney finished with nett 73.

The nearest to pin second shot on the14th hole went to Rosemary Martland.
