Pascoe on top in handicap championship

BEV Pascoe has been crowned Blue Lake Golf Club Division 1 handicap champion after the Belgiornos Cafe Handicap championship was completed n cold conditions.

The competition was set to run over 27 holes, but Pascoe needed just 23 to secure the title.

The two were even after the opening holes before Pascoe started to pull away and made good use of the seven strokes she received through the handicap system.

At the turn after nine holes, Pascoe was 4-up and never took her eye’s off the silverware waiting at the end.

Scott tried hard but just could not make inroads on Pascoe’s steadiness when 6-up after 18 holes.

The game took them to the 23rd hole with Pascoe winning 5/4.

Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances the Division 2 final between Lyn Annand and Karen Panagopolous was cancelled, with Annand remaining the champion.

A single stableford competition was played while the championship was underway and was won by Sue Agars in Division 1 with a score of 35 points.

Her card included a trio of three-pointers on the front nine and four on the back.

Nearest to pin went to Josie Ashby.

Trudy Herbert claimed the Division 2 win, signing for 30 points to just edge Annand on 29.

Lucy Richards and Vivienne Wilson followed with 27.

Nearest to pin second shot went to Lynette Hirth., while the pro-shot was won by Ashby.

The Blue Lake Golf Club congratulates The women’s Division 3 win in the South East District pennant competition run over the last six weeks after they defeated Lucindale 3/2.
