Seasiders claim top prize

THE Mount Gambier RSL Bowling Club hosted the Champion of Champions Fours tournament on the weekend, with a strong field from over the Limestone Coast competing.

Every club sent their current champions to compete, with the format up to the final a best-of-12 ends, while the final was played over 15.

The semi-finals saw Naracoorte defeat Port MacDonnell 13-12 and Robe defeat Mount Gambier RSL 15-12.

The final saw the Robe team of David Robinson, Errol Jennings, Paul Truelove and Robin Ling defeat the Naracoorte team of Eric Pitt, Ian Williams, Lindsay Noll and Bob Haggett by 17-9.

Winners of Thursday Men’s Aggregate were Ron Edlington, Paul Smith, Bruce Holland and Rick Fallaize, while Saturday’s Mixed Social was won by Carmel McQuade and Alwyn Pfeiler.

Social Bowls will be held again on Easter Saturday with every player guaranteed to win a prize.
