Persistence pays off

A STRONG finish in the secon dhalf of the grand final saw the team of Lyn Scudds, Carlene Godden, Ros Varcoe and Judy Lowe claim the Millicent Bowls Club’s Ladies Fours Championship on Sunday.

The consisted of lead-up games to decide grand final berths, with Del Parsons, Heather Carthew, Ella Pietersma and Shirley Thiele earning their spot to challenge for the overall honours.

Parson’s team started the decvider strongly, leading 5-1 early, then by the eighth end the game was poised at seven-all.

Scudds’ team then won six of the next nine ends to win the title after the 18th end with a score of 17-10.
