Strong performance for title

A STRONG performance saw Robert Corner claim the Mount Gambier RSL Bowling Club’s Men’s Veterans Singles Competition last week, with impressive bowling sealing the title.

The competition saw 10 quality bowlers take to the greens in the first to 21 shots format.

After some competitive games the final four resulted in Corner taking on Rick Chirgwin and although a valiant performance was put up by the latter it was Corner who took out the game 21 shots to four.

In the other semi-final Ron Edlington took on Noel Miller which was played to a high standard, with Edlington claiming a strong 21-9 victory.

The final did not live up to the close encounter which was expected, with last year’s Men’s Club Champion Corner showing some controlled bowling to become the eventual winner with a 21-5 victory.
