Challenge on Millicent greens

CHANGING conditions challenged 31 players on the Millicent Bowls Club greens for 20 ends of 2-4-2 bowls last week.

Warm weather greeted the bowlers to start the day but the 15th end a cool change rolled in, with light rain falling by the end of the game.

The triple combination of Jan Buhlmann, Eddie Hann and Derk Pietersma claimed the honours with a score of 33+12.

Runner-up was the pair of Wayne Burris and Neil Whelan with 32+11.

Other winning teams: Glen Schapel, David Reichelt 31+6; Chris Earl, Peter Scanlon 31+1; Frank Cooper, John Buhlmann 30+9; Derek Bowering, Ian Ross 30+6; Andy Kramer, Peter Varcoe 28+1.

The club’s Championship Pairs are to be completed before February 21 ready to play in the Champion of Champions Pairs at Millicent.
