THE Mount Gambier RSL Bowling Club Ladies Championship Pairs concluded on Sunday with Fiona Pearson and Fleur Roachock taking on Veronica Opie and Barb Winterfield in the final.
Both pairs had produced fine performances in their respective semi-final wins earlier in January and due to a congested calendar of events were unable to complete the final at the time.
The final was played over the best of 15 ends in a two-and-walk format.
Both pairs were worthy contenders after some earlier strong bowling.
The Pearson/Roachock combination was off to a strong start and went into an early lead.
They continued to put pressure on their opponents and increased their lead during the middle ends and ran out comfortable winners with a 23-10 victory.
