Students buzzing about new books

BUZZING ABOUT BOOKS: Mount Gambier North primary students dig into some new books.

MOUNT Gambier North Primary School recently had its library shelves restocked after receiving around $14,000 in new children’s books.

The school won a grant through the Stand Like Stone Foundation for $7000 which was then matched by the Dymocks Children’s Charities’ Library Regeneration Program, which partners with sponsors to restock primary school libraries with popular new books.

School librarian Jacqui Templeton expressed her gratitude to both organisations for the donation.

“It is amazing to see so many new books in the library,” Ms Templeton said.

“We are very grateful to have won the grant and very appreciative of the Stand Like Stone Foundation and Dymocks Children’s Charities for their wonderful program,” she said.

Staff from Mount Gambier North were able to select books from a curated list of titles, ensuring the school received popular books, suitable to the needs of both their students and the school’s curriculum.
