Casterton sporting facility upgrades complete

NATIONAL and state level sporting competitions are on the agenda for Casterton’s Island Park following a $1.46m redevelopment at the popular sporting precinct.

Glenelg Shire Mayor Anita Rank last week officially opened the $800,000 worth of refurbishments to the town’s memorial Olympic swimming pool in addition to a $60,000 redevelopment of the precinct’s tennis and netball clubrooms.

“These major works will assist the township to continue to attract state level swimming competitions and ensure the precinct is a hub for locals to exercise and cool off this summer season,” she said.
