TOPPING the market with class and power, the recently-launched 2019 Volkswagen Amarok Ultimate V6 580 combines everything that can be expected from a premium, class-leading vehicle.
With Amarok dominating the market since its first release in 2010, Volkswagen continues to rise to the top with its latest model.
The newly-upgraded three-litre turbo diesel engine now produces 580Nm of torque and 190kW of power, up from 550Nm of torque and 165kW of power.
The increase now marks it as quick as the Mark 5 Golf GTI manual, with an activated 10-second 200kW overboost when the accelerator is pressed over 70pc.

Standing out with 3.5 tonne towing capacity, Mr Lewis said the vehicle housed all the latest entertainment, connectivity and technology features you would expect.
Importantly, the vehicle offers a unique drive combination through an enhanced grip with the option of permanent 4×4 (4MOTION) and an eight-speed automatic gearbox – consistent since the first launch of the Amarok.
Other changes include upgraded 20-inch machined-face alloy wheels (in place of 19s previously), a new lower front bumper garnish, 580 badging on the tailgate, and a black interior headlining.
The powerful combination as the only ute on the market able to fit a pallet between the wheel arches makes it a force to be wrecked with.
Currently the widest tray in its class, no other pickup provides so much space.
It is also fully-loaded with additional features including Nappa leather trim, bi-Xenon headlights, heated and powered front seats, dual-zone climate control, 6.3-inch touchscreen with sat nav, CD player, CarPlay and Android Auto, tilt and reach adjustable steering, rear view camera, front and rear park sensors plus much more.
