THE ongoing argument in relation to the location of Troy Bell’s criminal trial has been adjourned until later this month after senior counsel was unable to attend yesterday’s hearing.
Facing 20 counts of theft and six of dishonestly dealing with documents, the Independent Member for Mount Gambier appeared in front of Judge Peter Brebner in Adelaide for the brief hearing.
Instructing defence counsel, Heidi Hancock appeared via video-link from the Mount Gambier District Court and asked for an adjournment.
She claimed Mr Bell would be at an “enormous disadvantage” if submissions continued because senior counsel was unable to be present.
