After Dark events cancelled

COONAWARRA After Dark has been cancelled in its entirety due to the growing COVID-19 pandemic.

Due to take place over the first weekend in April, all host wineries have now cancelled events in line with Federal Government regulations.

Raidis Estate was the last to cancel its planned event, making the decision earlier this week.

“We had record numbers for the event and many people wanted it to continue,” winery owner Emma Raidis said.

“We thought that it would not work and think the health of the people in our community is the most important thing.”

Raidis Estate is also one of 12 wineries to close its cellar doors until further notice, hoping to reopen next month.

“This has had a massive impact on our business and we had a slow business start due to the bushfires with April usually our busiest month of the year,” Ms Raidis said.

“We are hoping our online business will continue as strong as it is.”

Ms Raidis urged anyone in the community not impacted by the recent closures to support local businesses as much as possible.

“The main thing in our eyes is that everyone is healthy,” she said.
