Unforgettable experience with Bush Buddies

If you are looking for an unforgettable way to get up close with Australia’s most iconic creatures, look no further than Australian Bush Buddies.

They bring the wild to you – right in the comfort of your own space.

Owned and operated by experienced zoo keeper Louise “Ranger Lou Lou” McKay and her husband Alistair (Ranger Al), Australian Bush Buddies is known in the region for its captivating wildlife demonstrations.

With decades of experience in the zoo and wildlife industry between them, the duo are passionate about sharing their love of animals with audiences of all ages.

Ms McKay began her career at Dreamworld Wildlife, working under the guidance of respected wildlife leaders Al Mucci and Vere Nicholson.

Over the years she’s worked with a range of animals, from big cats and birds of prey to crocodiles, bilbies, Tasmanian devils, mahogany gliders and koalas.

Her engaging personality has made her a favourite with celebrities, international guests, and even television audiences through appearances on Totally Wild.

A licensed mobile wildlife demonstrator in South Australia, Ranger Lou Lou’s presentations are not only fun but also professional, safe, and fully insured.

Ranger Al’s story is just as inspiring.

His dedication to conservation started in the 1970s at Bullen’s Lion Park in Queensland before moving on to work at Currumbin Sanctuary.

He went on to serve as a council member of the Victorian Aviculture Council, representing the Australian Bird Breeders Association and today, he continues to bring his wealth of knowledge and passion for wildlife to Australian Bush Buddies, delighting audiences with his hands-on approach.

Together, the pair have built strong ties with organisations such as the Save the Bilby Foundation, reinforcing their commitment to conservation and education. With more than a decade in business, Australian Bush Buddies has earned a reputation for professionalism, reliability, and unforgettable wildlife experiences.

Whether it’s a school visit, community event, or private function, Australian Bush Buddies ensures your guests leave with lasting memories—and a greater appreciation for Australia’s unique wildlife.
