A man has been charged with murder following an incident in Mount Gambier/ Berrin this week.

It was alleged at about 3pm on Tuesday, September 26, police and ambulance crews were called to a block of units in Bond Street after reports of a disturbance.

Police attended and found a 65-year-old Mount Gambier/ Berrin man with serious injuries.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to the Mount Gambier Hospital, but he died a short time later.

A 65-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested at the scene and has since been charged with murder.

It is believed both men were known to each other and no one else is being sought in relation to the matter.
