Triples champions crowned

ALL Lower South East Bowls Association Open Pennant matches were cancelled on Saturday due to the heat policy.

However, the Penola Bowls Club was able to play its men’s championship triples on Sunday, with Scott Degenhardt’s rink claiming the title.

He teamed up with Rick Mitchell and Gary Wachtel to defeat Rex Williams, Norm Vaughan and Bruce Brodie in the final.

Looking to this round, Penola’s Open Division 1 side travels to play Mount Gambier Red, while Division 3 South hosts Port MacDonnell Red and Division 3 North hosts Frances.

Also this week will be the Penola’s men’s championship pairs which will be contested on January 22.
