Perfect conditions for Eclectic

MILLICENT Golf Club welcomed 21 players in perfect weather conditions for the latest round of golf.

The stableford competition included the second round of the Margaret Young Eclectic, with scores to count for the Heather Walker Memorial Trophy.

Kathy Webber claimed the honours in A Grade with 34 points, ahead of Sue Agnew with 31.

In B Grade, Karen Lock finished with 33 but needed a count-back to clinch the win from Sharne Peacock.

Ball winners were Janet Watson 33, Sue Ireland 32 and Mary Warneke 32.

A nine-hole competition was played on the front nine, with Agnew taking the win with 19 points on a count-back from Warneke.

Nearest to pin on the par 3 third hole went to Virginia DeDonatis, the par 3, 13th was not hit, nor was the A Grade second shot on the par 4 sixth hole.

In B Grade, nearest to pin second shot on the par 3 fifth hole went to Warneke, while Lock claimed the nearest to pin second shot for handicaps 32-45 on the par 3, 17th.

Agnew also dropped a birdie on the fifth hole.

The competition for Wednesday, September 22 is stroke off the orange tees on the short course for the third round of the Olympic Event.
