Sunshine attracts players

THE weather played its part for the latest round of 2-4-2 competition at the Millicent Bowls Club, with warm but windy conditions.

The sunshine attracted the players, with 52 participating, along with the chance to fine-tune skills prior to the start of the season opener on September 12 and the Scudds/Earl Shield on September 19.

Faye Hill teamed up with club president Peter Hyland to claim the honours with a score of 35+25, only losing five ends for the game.

Runners-up were Robin Rolfe and Carl Schapel with a score of 33+15.

Other winning teams: Ross Warren/Jan Buhlmann 33+12; Del Parsons/Andre Reinders 32+11; Rob Chambers/John Eldridge 33+9; Carlene Godden/Adriana Ross 32+6; Joy Warren/Peter Scanlon 32+6; Mary Campbell/Alan Correll 32+1; Ella Pietersma/Bill Burdon 30+9; Denis Clifford/Neil Whelan 30+6; Carol Gibbs/Peter Bateman 30+5; Derreck Lindh/John Drew 30+5; Graham Loveday/Terry Barnes 30+1.
