IMPROVING online presence was the focus for the first Bordertown lunch for the Women in Business Regional Network.
The network already has 10 chapters meeting regularly throughout regional South Australia and offers support, connections, promotion, advocacy and training to regional women in business.
A dozen women attended the inaugural South-East event and heard from network founder Carolyn Jeffrey who also runs her own website, marketing and business consulting business.
“It was exciting to see the range of women and businesses represented,” Ms Jeffrey said.
“We had sole traders, home businesses, plus representatives from larger businesses with multiple branches.
“There was strong interest from all in getting tips to make it easier for people to find their businesses in online searches.”
The network was planning to hold regular events throughout the region and was looking forward to appointing a local convenor and encouraging and supporting local women in business to act as speakers too.
“Each of our events includes a speaker on a topic related directly to business, or someone with
an inspirational message,”Ms Jeffrey said.
“We try, where possible, to have our members be the speakers at the functions.
“We’ve recently launched a group coaching and education program for our members and plan to launch an online regional women in business magazine by the end of the year.”
The next round of South-East functions for the network was planned for the week of October 21.
