Handicapper stands tall

IT was a tough day for the women competing in the Blue Lake Golf Club’s June monthly medal, sponsored by life member Judy Collins.

Handicapper Dianne Perryman made the most of the day to win the stroke event.

The competition attracted a good field, with the blue sky and winter sun a definite drawcard.

Perryman added to her monthly medal win with top spot in Division 1 for the first of four round’s of the President’s Trophy, sponsored by Allan and Geraldine Scott of Scotty’s Loader Services”.

Perryman’s scorecard of 93-18-75 included pars on the second, fifth and 15th holes to help edge out runner-up Ronda Edwards by one stroke (95-19-76).

Edwards would rue the extra bogey and double bogey on the front nine after equalling Perryman’s back nine score of 45 off the stick which included pars on the 12th and the dog-leg 15th.

A regular in the winner’s circle, Bev Pascoe once again took the honours in Division 2, five strokes clear of runner-up Rose Case.

Pascoe signed for 108-31-77 and Case 118-36-82.

Nearest to pin second shot winner’s on the par 3 14th hole were Josie Ashby in Division 1 and Karen Panagopolous in Division 2.

The pro-shot on the par 3 fifth hole was a popular and first-time win for secretary Vivienne Wilson.

The putting competition winner’s were Division 1’s Rosemary Martland with 29 putts and Division 2’s Bev Pascoe with 31.
