A VISIT from two Mid North Archers (MNA) club members spiced up the local Blue Lake Archers Sunday afternoon outdoor event.

Mark Goulding and Andrew Thompson from the Port Pirie based MNA joined four of the local archers in a WA 60/900 event.

Goulding, Paul Freeman and Graham Lock were flying in close formation in the off-the-bow scores throughout the afternoon with just six points between them as the day drew to a close.

Len Bayley was chuffed to notch up another All Gold at the 50-metre range to add to his tally.

Ben Kilsby had streaked ahead of the group to take the bragging rights for the off-the-bow scores by an unassailable 56 point from Lock.

The mild conditions and a relaxed holiday mood helped Thompson post a new personal best for the round.

When the adjusted scores were viewed at the end of the day to determine the overall winner Thompson had blitzed the field to win the day by 23 points from Kilsby.

Indoor archery continues at the Blue Lake Gymnastics Club, Malseed Park Friday night at 7.30pm followed by outdoor archery at Corriedale Park from 12.30pm Sunday.

WA 60/900 outdoor round, handicap scored, benchmark 900 points: Andrew Thompson MNA (off the bow 666 PB) 924; Ben Kilsby (871) 901; Paul Freeman (809) 887; Graham Lock (815) 886; Mark Goulding MNA (814) 879; Len Bayley (687) 866.
