NEXT STEP: Women in Business and Regional Development chair Jacinta Jones congratulates Laminara directors Marika Gazzard and Ilana Adam after being announced the joint winners of the 2020 WiBRD Entrepreneurial Scholarship.

SEVERAL high-achieving Limestone Coast businesswomen have been celebrated at a recent Women in Business and Regional Development (WiBRD) social evening.

The 2020 Business Booster and Entrepreneurial Scholarships recipients were revealed at the sell-out evening at Koonara Wines, which was a joint initiative between WiBRD and the Riddoch Business and Community Association.

Each scholarship is valued at over $2500 for women who demonstrate entrepreneurial potential and/or run an established business and are seeking support to help boost their businesses into its next phase.

Laminara directors Marika Gazzard and Ilana Adam and Black Island Produce founder Danielle England were named joint recipients of the entrepreneurial scholarship.

Flinders EnVision and Dare to Dream Business Coaching and Mentoring doubled their prize money to accommodate the joint recipients.

The Business Booster Scholarship was awarded to Post and Rail Potager and Pantry owner Cindy Cross

WiBRD board and scholarship judging panel member Toni Vorenas reflected on the community importance of the scholarships.

“They recognise the enormous creativity and talent we have here in the Limestone Coast and they serve to offer the connections and mentoring that are so vital to all of us in business,” she said.

“What was clearly evident and the common thread in all the applications was just how passionate they are, not only about their businesses and own personal development but also how passionate you are about showcasing our region and all it has to offer. ”

The WiBRD Scholarship Program has been developed in partnership with Dare to Dream Business Coaching and Mentoring, Southern Cross Austereo and Flinders University.
