FORMER Tantanoola resident Maya Linnell has achieved best-seller status with her second romance novel.
Bottlebrush Creek is currently sitting in third place in its category in the lists compiled by The Sunday Age and The Sydney Morning Herald.
After securing a two-book deal with upmarket international publishing firm Allen and Unwin, the former The South Eastern Times journalist has warmly acknowledged many supporters from her home district.
“I also thank my English teacher Alistair Minty for his steady guidance throughout at Millicent High School and the beautiful crew from Tantanoola Primary School who supported my debut book release just like they supported me as a student,” she said.
“ An extra special shout out for early readers from Beachport: Pamela Linnell, Karen Nancarrow and Julie Linnell.”
Ms Linnell started writing Bottlebrush Creek in 2018.
Her debut novel Wildflower Ridge also achieved best-seller status.
