Dumped carcases shock

MOUNT Gambier Police are investigating the reported dumping of animal carcasses at Frew Park in the heart of the city.

As reported by the ABC, early morning walkers made the gruesome discovery of five partially-skinned foxes at the central site, triggering outrage on social media.

Limestone Coast Police officer in charge Superintendent Phil Hoff said the incident had not been reported to police but enquiries were ongoing.

“We are aware of the dumping but by the time police were on the scene, the carcasses were gone,” he said.

“We have been making inquiries into the matter, but at this stage we are unsure what offences have taken place, if any.

“A report has not been filed by any witnesses but we are keen to hear from anyone with any further information into the matter.”
