2019 Classic and Vintage Motorcycle Show in Mount Gambier

MOUNT Gambier City Hall was transformed into a motorcycle collector’s dream last weekend.

Around 550 enthusiasts attended the city’s 2019 Classic and Vintage Motorcycle show – held across Saturday and Sunday – which raised over $3000 for the Cancer Council of South Australia.

Event founder Tyrone Mustey hailed the event a success and praised City Council, the community and sponsors for supporting the cause.

Around 40 bikes built between 1930 to 1984 were displayed as part of the showcase.

Setting a benchmark for all entrants, the Shannon’s Choice award was presented to both a 1974 Wasp – Yamaha sidecar and a 1960’s ARAB BSA sidecar.

Proving a crowd favourite, the people’s choice award was given to a 1947 Triumph Speed Twin 5T, followed by the unique 1933 AJS 33/10 Solo which received the entrants’ choice award.
Other voting awards were given to a 1972 Honda Mini Trail Z50, 1977 Rickman Suzuki CR 1000 and 1984 Ducati 900 SD.
