DARTMOOR Children’s Centre was officially recognised as a leading early childhood education and care service during a national review.
The centre exceeded national standards through the Federal Government’s rating and assessment process based on seven criteria, including children’s health and safety, collaborative partnerships with families and communities, relationships with children and leadership.
Glenelg Shire children’s services manager Janine Johnstone said it was an excellent result for the service.
“Council staff and educators are delighted with this fantastic outcome which acknowledges the service’s dedication to providing exceptional early learning programs for our rural based families,” Ms Johnstone said.
“The service has previously been rated as meeting the national standards when assessed in 2013 and this review highlights the impact of our strengthened program delivery, relationship building and innovation over the past six years.
“The service was also commended for the high level of strong leadership and governance, including the ongoing commitment to quality improvement and the delivery of an inclusive program.”
