Swinging with the Stars fundraiser at Coonawarra Hall

PENOLA and Coonawarra residents braved the cold over the weekend to help Liz Rymill and fellow competitor Elle Hood raise funds for their respective Swinging with the Stars campaigns.

Hosted on Saturday night, the Bucks For Our Backyard event saw around 30 adults plus children through the Coonawarra Hall doors with many travelling from Mount Gambier and surrounds in support.

Competing against each other at The Barn later this month, Ms Rymill and Ms Hood joined together for their main fundraising event to draw a large crowd.

Over the course of the night a silent auction was held with around $2000 raised for the pair.

Some of the top sales included a one on one shooting experience with Ms Rymill which was auctioned for $200 and three hours of yard work from Member for Barker Tony Pasin which raised a whopping $300.

The pair will now continue their training for the upcoming event which will see eight competitors face off at the Barn on June 22.
