Stand Like Stone Foundation sponsors’ night

STAND Like Stone Foundation sponsors and supporters gathered at Noel Barr Toyota last week to acknowledge the community generosity which is essential to the charity.

Foundation chairman Bill DeGaris said the organisation would not be able to operate without the support of sponsors.

“Foundation operation and administration costs would need to be sourced from other invested funds if it was not for our sponsors,” he said.

“This would mean we would have less funds for charitable projects and educational scholarships.

“It is staggering to look at our sponsorships over the years, showing the true value of the Stand Like Stone Foundation.”

Mr DeGaris said the board encouraged more people to become foundation sponsors or to donate towards community grants.

“Over more than a decade we have given out close to $1.6m to the community, which is a significant contribution and I think this will continue to grow,” he said.

“I think the growth of the foundation will be exponential in the next few years with Swinging with the Stars giving us a profile right across the region.

“Every cent we receive goes out to the community and we thank our sponsors for allowing it to happen.”
