FASHION AT THE RACES: Graham Walter and Nicole Rose were named as the 2019 Penola Cup Fashion at the Races winners.

ELEGANT dresses and wonderful suits were the backbone of the 2019 Penola Cup Fashion at the Races with Nicole Rose awarded the big prize.

Ms Rose said she was “beyond excited” to win the title as she wore her Only One Ashley dress with an Annabella hat.

She accompanied her outfit with a YSL bag and with tulle under her dress it sat perfectly for the entire day.

“I am stoked about winning,” Ms Rose said.

“I have tried so many times but I have only ever won millinery which I was always very excited about.

“I am so excited I can finally say I have won.”

Visiting her father for Easter, Ms Rose said she loves Penola and the South East.

“The wineries are stunning, the area is amazing and the racetrack is beautiful,” she said.

Men’s Fashions at the Races winner Graham Walter wore a New England Micro Spun suit.

“My wife brought me the suit and I thought I better try and do her justice,” Mr Walter said.

“But I am pretty happy about the win.”

Mandy Scanlon was named best local with daughter Brianna awarded the millinery prize.

Jene Spiridis won the best shoes category, with shoes from Balnaves’ of Penola.

The event saw a large contingent, especially in the women’s category with a total of 10 entrants.

The youth Fashion at the Races winners were Grace McCarthy and Thomas Robinson alongside Rachel Murphy and Bree Robinson.
