HIGH SCHOOL SWEETHEARTS: After a decade of love Clay Reilly and Teagan Harvey tied the knot in the company of family and friends at the Southend jetty on March 2.

WHEN Clay started messaging Teagan in high school she thought he was showing off in front of his mates.

Little did she know he actually had feelings for her.

Attending Millicent High School and sharing the same friends, it was not long before the couple realised the feelings were mutual and a relationship blossomed.

Fast forward ten years, Clay and Teagan tied the knot in Southend, the town the bride grew up in and also where the high school sweethearts shared their first kiss.

Teagan Harvey, daughter of Merrie and Derek “Dick” and Clay Reilly, son of Lynlee and Trevor “Sod” Reilly were married at the Southend jetty on March 2, 2019 after just over a year’s engagement.

Clay proposed to Teagan in January 2018 after the pair spent an exhausting day together working on the yard at their Matheson Road block.

Teagan was resting on the couch and was brought to tears when Clay got down on one knee in front of her and asked her to marry him.

Warm weather and blue skies set the scene for a perfect wedding day and the ceremony was officiated by local celebrant Catharina Corman.

Teagan was attended to by her sister Leah Rogers who was the maid of honour and her close friends Claire Hubbard, Jemma Smith and Kate Stratford as the bridesmaids.

The bridal party also featured the bride’s niece Maddison Roger and her bridesmaid Kate’s daughter Halle Stratford as flower girls.

Meanwhile, Kate’s son Ryder Stratford and bridesmaid Jemma’s son Cove Smith served as ring bearers.

Supporting Clay was his brother and best man Mitchell Reilly, and groomsmen and close friends Jordan Williams, Zac Walker, James Weir and Ben Gordon.

The bride wore a stunning dress, which was designed by a friend who lived overseas and was completing design school in London.

After dress shopping in Adelaide was unsuccessful, Teagan worked out what suited her and what didn’t and made contact with her friend who put the ideas to paper.

Teagan then sourced her own fabric and Di McLaughlin from Di’s Designs created the stunning piece, a simple, flowy summer dress with a lace featured detachable train.

FRIENDSHIP: Teagan and Clay were supported by their close friends Ben Gordon, Jemma Smith, James Weir, Kate Stratford, Jordan Williams, Teagan’s sister and Maid of Honour Leah Rogers, Clay’s brother and Best man Mitchell Reilly, Claire Hubbard and Zac Walker.

Clay and his groomsmen looked smart in suits, which were purchased locally at Millicent store Since Fifty Six.

Around 180 friends and family gathered for the ceremony before joining the newlyweds for the a backyard style picnic reception on Matheson Road, Millicent.

The reception featured blow-up pools and marquees and guests danced the night away to the tunes of local duo JB and Crowey.

Beautiful, short, sharp and shiny toasts were made at the reception by Sod, Dick, Leah, Mitchell and the bride and groom, before all enjoyed witnessing the Reilly’s take part in a game of “how well do you know each other”.

Teagan and Clay shared their first dance as a married couple to Ed Sheeran’s hit song Perfect.

The bride said the lyrics of the song – we were kids when we fell in love, and we danced barefoot on our grass – suited the relationship well.

The Chapel Studio captured the love and happiness of the newlywed’s special day, as well as all of the picture perfect moments, which Clay and Teagan will cherish for a lifetime.

As the Reilly’s have just moved into their new house they plan to head on their honeymoon either at the end of this year or the beginning of next year- but aren’t sure yet.
