THE Mount Gambier Swim Club was represented by four members in the recent South Australian Country Swimming Championships held in Port Pirie.
With a high standard of competition, Lucy Edwards, Elijah, Vaughn and Indee Stratford returned home from the four-day meeting with a number of PB’s, finals swims and medals.
Vaughn did well to win gold in both the 100-metre and 50-metre breaststroke events for his age group, as well as two bronze medals in the 50-metre freestyle and backstroke.
He and Elijah joined forces with Blue Lake Y Swim Club’s Nicholas Bignell and Bordertown’s Harry Schwarz to win silver in the regional freestyle relay.
Elijah also won two bronzes in the 200-metre individual medley and 200-metre freestyle.
