Dynamic duo bowls over opposition

LAST Wednesday, the women’s 100 up drawn pairs competition was played in Penola.

The final saw Maria Hunter and Margaret Hanel play against Heather Lambert and Jean Hutchesson with title for the 2018-19 season awarded to Hunter and Hanel.

The following night’s bowls competition was won by The Tradies represented by Marcus Devereux, Tim Finch and Matt McGregor.

Devereux also won nearest the ditch and the Early Bird draw will be announced from a Jackpot next week.

On Friday the two travelling Pennant teams from Division 1 and 2 both lost.

Division 1 fell to Millicent Blue by eight shots 39-47 and Division 2 lost to Naracoorte RSL by 36 shots 33-69.

In contrast, the Division 3 side who hosted Mount Gambier experienced another win, this time by 12 shots 53-4.

Saturday was a successful day for the two Open Pennant sides as Division 3 defeated Millicent Blue by 48 shots 95-47 and Division 4 Red got over the line against Naracoorte by 8 shots 72-64.

Today at 9.30am, the Ladies Handicap Singles will start.

On Friday both the Division 1 and 3 sides will remain on home soil to face Millicent Red and Robe Blue respectively, as Division 2 will travel to Naracoorte.

On Saturday, the Open Division 3 Pennant team will travel to Kingston while the Division 4 Red open pennant tea, play Millicent at home.

On Sunday December 16, both the President’s and Vice President’s day will be held at the club.
