Christmas shopping in style at Penola

SHOP TIL YOU DROP: Jen McCulloch from Koonara Wines, Moss and Wild’s Alana Foster and Amanda Flint from Koonara Wines get ready for Penola’s Late Night Shopping.

PENOLA’S retail sector will host an evening of specials, bubbles and prizes during its annual late night shopping event tonight from 4pm to 8pm.

Each store will have great specials – ideal for Christmas shoppers – with most offering a taste of bubbles on arrival.

“It is such a fun night,” Koonara cellar door manager Jen McCulloch said.

“Penola is so lucky to have such wonderful stores with really unique gift ideas.

“What can be better than getting all your Christmas shopping done in one night?”

Now in its ninth consecutive year, this year five Penola stores will keep their doors open late, including Balnaves of Penola, Di’s Gifts’n’Flowers, Koonara Wines, Moss and Wild and Penola True Value Hardware.

Moss and Wild owner Alana Foster said the event had gone from strength to strength over the last decade.

“Penola’s late night shopping just keeps on getting better,” Ms Foster said.

“The event is great for shoppers and for local businesses – we want to encourage our community to think and buy local this Christmas.

“The Penola District Business And Tourism Association is generously supporting us again this year.

“Their help allows us to spread the word that exciting community events like this are on and these nights showcase how good Penola is for everyone’s Christmas shopping and festive entertaining.”
