Renowned sport coach to address city athletes

THE University of South Australia will bring former Socceroos and Sydney Swans strength and conditioning Coach Nik Hagicostas to Mount Gambier tomorrow to present a free public lecture on injury prevention and recovery.

The visit is an opportunity for athletes in all sports, parents, coaches, trainers and anyone interested in sport to listen to a world class coach and ask questions.

In addition to his experience in international and elite team sport, Mr Hagicostas is also the head coach education facilitator for the International Association of Athletics Federation and has coached at an elite level in a wide range of other team and individual sports.

Mr Hagicostas will work with Mount Gambier High School and the Tenison Woods College High Performance Sports Program providing practical experiences for students during his visit.

UniSA regional manager Ian McKay said he was excited to bring an experienced trainer to Mount Gambier.

“Our campus is delighted to be able to contribute to our region by arranging for Nik Hagicostas to visit and speak.”

A free public lecture on athlete development, injury prevention and recovery will be held at 6.30pm tomorrow night at the UniSA campus.

Free tickets for any members of the public are available through Eventbrite or by calling the campus on 8721 8900.
