MOUNT Gambier police are investigating a hit and run incident at the corner of Pick Avenue and Jubilee Highway East yesterday morning.

The incident occurred at around 9.50am when a car ran a red light at the intersection and crashed into another vehicle.

Two male occupants exited one vehicle and fled the scene on foot.

A spokesperson from SA Police Media said officers were still conducting enquiries regarding the incident.

“Police are investigating the incident and wish to speak to the driver or occupants involved,” they said.

Reports from the public on social media stated the car carrying the two males had been seen driving on the wrong side of the road earlier in the morning.

Mount Gambier Metropolitan Fire Service crews also attended the incident to clear the intersection.

Anyone who has any information that may assist the investigation is asked to report details online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au or contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
