Relaunch excitement

READY TO GO: Woolworths team members Johnathon Urquhart, Sharon Lamble, Dylan Bennett-Fuller, Greg McDonald and Rob Mundy are excited for this week’s relaunch.

AFTER more than three months of hard work, Woolworths Mount Gambier is celebrating its relaunch day today.

With more than a year of planning, the store has had a full refurbishment to create the most appealing and customer friendly store possible.

Customers that head into the store this Saturday can enjoy the store’s fresh food fair between 10am and 2pm, which will include a range of products to sample and a free face painter for the kids.

Opening just in time for the Christmas season, Woolworths Mount Gambier customers can also pick from traditional Christmas favourites, to some exciting new lines including fruit mince pies, a festive Gold range of Christmas puddings, Christmas meats and so much more.

The state of the art redesign includes refurbishments across many of the different departments, such as the bakery, butcher and deli.

Store manager Greg McDonald said he was excited for the completion of the project.

“The whole renewal process is something we are really excited about, as the store enhancements have come from customer feedback – the team has focused on what our customers wanted to see,” he said.

“Our aim is to always provide great quality, value and fresh options for all our customers and to make meal shopping and preparation easier – our local customers can look forward to a transformed, modern and contemporary shopping experience.

“With 100pc of our fresh meat and 96pc of fresh fruit and vegetables sourced from Australia, the new look store has been designed to also showcase the wonderful seasonality of our produce and provide further food inspiration for our customers.”

Amongst the key changes as part of the renewal at Woolworths Mount Gambier, customers can expect a fresh new experience in store with an in-store bakery with the stone baked bread range, a new look fruit and vegetable department, in addition to a fresh seafood department and deli counter.

Customers who utilise the Woolworths Pick-Up service can also look forward to a drive through pick up in the future.

“Our drive through is currently being installed,” Mr McDonald said.

“So although it will not be finished today, everything on offer at the relaunch is just the beginning for the store.”

One of the standout features of the redesign is the all-weather sails in the car park.

The project has also been beneficial to the local economy, with around half of the trades used in the redesign from the South East.

Members of the community are all encouraged to join in today’s relaunch celebrations and take advantage of what is on offer at the new look store.
