Natural phenomenon given prime television slot

READY TO AIR: Australia will get a glimpse at one of the Limestone Coast’s remarkable natural phenomenon this week when Ghost Mushroom Lane will feature on The Living Room.

AFTER a long wait, the Limestone Coast will finally be featured on popular WIN TV program The Living Room when its Halloween special airs on Friday night.

Earlier this year, television identity Dr Chris Brown spent time in the South East visiting infamous steer Big Moo, but was also in the region to film a segment at Ghost Mushroom Lane in Glencoe.

Teaming up with “mushroom master” and Limestone Coast local Ockert Le Roux, Dr Brown spent time witnessing the spooky natural phenomenon.

Although Dr Brown was eager to visit the over one tonne friendly steer, his main purpose of the trip was to film a segment on ForestrySA’s popular Ghost Mushroom Lane.

The picturesque mushrooms have piqued the interest of local and interstate visitors with more than 20,000 people visiting the site in the 2018 season and 40,000 since its opening in 2017.

“We were thrilled to welcome Chris and his film crew to Ghost Mushroom Lane,” ForestrySA corporate communications officer Laura Thomas said.

“To capture such high profile exposure for our project and the region as a whole is invaluable and a pat on the back for our hardworking ForestrySA staff and valued project supporters.

“I cannot wait for the whole of Australia to get a closer look at Ghost Mushroom Lane and plan their next visit to our region.”

The program will air on WIN from 7.30pm on Friday.
